Cuteness overload

New additions to the cute food range!

I’ve been busy in the kitchen (quite literally - I take over the dining table to make the clay and then my poor family think there’s something yummy baking in the oven, only to discover it’s trays of clay food!) making loads of new goodies to add to my ever-expanding clay food pantry.

The popularity of the cute desk buddies is growing, but perhaps you want to carry the cuteness around with you? In that case, my cute clay keyrings are for you! I’ve created four miniature versions of the pasty, watermelon and macarons in two colours (with sparkly filling, yum). These make great keyrings and are so cheerful on your keys or attached to your bag. Kids love them and grown-ups do too. I took a pasty keyring on my recent Easter break to Cornwall, so Peter Pasty could visit his ancestral homeland! But really to test him out, and he proved to be sturdy and reliable. Obviously if you drop them repeatedly on hard ground they may chip, but otherwise they are super sweet and ready to brighten up your day.

I wanted to develop the notebooks in my range, so I have designed and illustrated a cute food notebook which is now printed and in my online shop. It’s A5 size which is a great size for sketches, scribbles, lists and notes, packed full with 48 unlined pages of smooth white paper, staple-bound. I find the notebooks are really good quality and make an ideal present, easily combined with a keyring or desk buddy for a perfect gift.

I’m always trying to increase the quantities of each clay desk buddy food item, but I get distracted easily and start making new ones…! So I have stocked up my online shop (and local stockists) with existing favourites as well as new creations. You can find them in my shop and some are pictured here - Bella Belgian Bun, Peter Pasty, Sally Sausage Roll, Fiona French Fancy, Ollie Aubergine, Charlie Chicken Drumstick, Bobby Bagel and Janet Jacket Potato. There are many more to see!

If the food you fancy is showing as ‘out of stock’ in my shop, please just drop me a message as I am always working on more. I may well have one in progress that I can reserve for you, or it’ll be a good nudge to get me making more again. As they are handmade and handpainted, I work in batches but it can be tricky to build up multiples - I’m grateful they’re so popular with everyone!

Frankly, the world needs a bit of cheer sometimes doesn’t it, so if these little lumps of joy bring a smile then I am very happy to see that.

PS It’s well worth checking out my local stockists, as they may well have clay cuties in store that aren’t in my online shop: Pom Stitch Tassel (Bovey Tracey), Ullacombe Farm (near Haytor, Bovey Tracey), Yellow Umbrella Gifts (Newton Abbot).
