The countdown is on!

I don’t know how I still get surprised by Christmas coming, I mean it happens every year! But still, I do and I leave buying some things later than I should and it’s always disappointing if I’m unlucky and they sell out before I get round to actually buying them. Advent calendars are a prime example - I always think ‘no need to buy it just yet…’ and inevitably end up with much less choice!

With Advent Calendars needed from the 1st of December, it’s best to buy them as soon as possible during November. I don’t want anyone to miss out.

The popular Advent Beard is back again this Christmas - the jolliest Father Christmas has been busy growing his beard this year and has managed to get so many things stuck in it - oh dear, Santa!

He needs you to trim off one strip of beard each day in December, to count down to the Big Christmas Day!

This Advent Beard calendar is a great choice for children because:

  • It’s an activity which means children are actively counting down to Christmas Day by trimming the beard shorter - they can see the difference each day

  • It’s a humorous calendar with lots of funny details to spot, cut around and chuckle about

  • The cutting activity promotes fine motor and scissor skills in young children - having fun while not even noticing they are developing their skills!

  • It’s practical - dates are numbered on both sides of the beard, making cutting the strips easy for both left- and right-handed children

  • He’s a cheerful traditional Father Christmas who looks festive and jolly in anyone’s family kitchen

  • The original, hand-illustrated design makes a lovely traditional festive gift, perfect for children and grandchildren

  • It’s chocolate-free, so you can choose this one for a traditional advent activity. Or if you want to add chocolate, why not keep a tub of chocolates for children to have one each day when they’ve trimmed the beard that day.

  • It’s great value for a daily activity lasting the whole month! (only £4)

  • If you’re a Teacher - the Advent Beard is an ideal class activity where children can take it in turns to cut off a strip each day!

  • It’s totally recyclable, printed on A3 paper and posted rolled-up in a plastic-free triangular cardboard ‘tube’

Write to Father Christmas too

You can pair the Advent Beard calendar with illustrated Wishlist Letters too. These lovely high quality printed letters are perfect for children of all ages to write their Christmas wishlists down and send them to Father Christmas at the North Pole - or to hand directly to him at a Santa’s Grotto, of course.

With a place to include your own address so that Father Christmas knows where to deliver your presents on Christmas Eve, these letters have amusing illustrations of Santa’s Elves and Rudolph ‘helping’ to pack everybody’s presents into Father Christmas’ sack.

These letters are printed on smooth, uncoated white paper which feels lovely and is easy for children to write on, whether they choose pencil, crayon or pen.

At £1.50 each, these letters are an enjoyable and memorable festive activity.
