Bespoke memory baubles

Near the end of 2023 I was honoured to be asked if I could create some personalised baubles for a very special memorial tree, to remember a much-loved family member at Christmas. She loved sunflowers and bees, but the family couldn’t find anything suitable to give the tree the colour and celebration they wanted to remember their loved one. It was a privilege to create these baubles, and a pleasure to design something different to the usual at Christmas!

I created a mix of designs, some featuring large bumblebees and others with large sunflowers with tiny bees buzzing around them. It was requested to have one bauble with the name on, so I also embellished it with a bee. All the baubles featured sparkly paint to catch the light as well as using the same bright colours to coordinate the set, and I finished each one with bright yellow velvet ribbon which gave a touch of luxury as well as colour. These will work beautifully at Christmas but also at other times of the year, especially summer, meaning the family don’t have to put them away if they don’t want to. Each bauble had a lovely tactile quality and can be treasured forever.
