Giving my brand a glow up

I talked recently about my photo shoot experience with Rosie Parsons Photography in my ‘Getting yourself out there’ blog post. Well - now’s the time to give my brand a glow up!

I’ve been a website content manager for many, many years and am very familiar with freshening up images, text content, making sure you’ve dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s of Alt tags, meta info, input links etc etc - and I STILL find myself realising there’s more I haven’t done!

Realistically, the work never stops - there are always things you need to do to keep developing and improving.

One of those pieces of work is my brand imagery. Great photography is so important to all businesses because it sells your products, makes your services visual, it sells YOU! Potential customers need to see the face behind a business - especially a small independent business, because they are buying into you, as much as what you make or the service you provide.

It’s just like first impressions in person - images create a feeling of trust, connection, and professionalism. No amount of words can have the same effect as a great image (she says, typing away on a blog post!)

I have enjoyed receiving my photos from Rosie - as I said to Rosie at the shoot, her photos are ‘You, but better!’ which after all, is how we all want to look isn’t it? Like the best version of ourselves.

So I’m now going through my website and social media platforms with a fresh eye, giving everything a good declutter and a spring clean.

Rosie’s photographic style is designed to enable people to build their brand, to reflect their brand aesthetic and give impact to their imagery. No more boring straight headshots, in with colour! The photos we have selected have specific usages in mind - they’re not just a collection of pics, each one will work for me for specific purposes on each platform. I also love having the ability to work with the images to suit my needs, hence the banners I’ve created for my About page and LinkedIn profile.

Keep your eyes peeled for more imagery popping up soon!

Get in touch with Rosie if your brand needs a glow up, she’d love to hear from you.
